Il y existe de multiples occasions au cours desquelles la musique et la danse naissent de gestes r\u00e9p\u00e9t\u00e9s, que ce soit ceux du cultivateur, du piroguier ou encore de ces femmes qui pilent \u00e0 plusieurs, autour d&rsquo;un m\u00eame mortier, le mil, le sorgho ou le ma\u00efs. Elles labourent ainsi ensemble pendant de longues heures en faisant tant\u00f4t percuter les pilons dans les mortiers, tant\u00f4t en les lan\u00e7ant dans les airs et tapant des mains avant de les rattraper pour piler, chacune allant de prouesses plus \u00e9labor\u00e9es, l&rsquo;une apr\u00e8s l&rsquo;autre, le tout dans un rythme organis\u00e9 produisant une symphonie rythmique parfois complexe.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Cet art de magnifier m\u00eame les corv\u00e9es, d&rsquo;entrer en communion avec les \u00e9l\u00e9ments au lieu de leur r\u00e9sister, de ne pas les subir ni les dominer; cet art de la r\u00e9silience et du recommencement si f\u00e9cond qui donne naissance \u00e0 tout un r\u00e9pertoire de rythmes, chants et danses propres \u00e0 chaque village; Il y g\u00eet une mine de mouvements, de sons et de r\u00e9flexions philosophiques dans lequel la chor\u00e9graphe Sarah Elola puise pour donner naissance \u00e0 son deuxi\u00e8me solo <strong>La Pileuse<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Cette \u0153uvre se veut donc une plong\u00e9e aux sources m\u00eame de la danse et du rythme, mais ultimement, il s&rsquo;agit aussi d&rsquo;une rencontre intime avec la femme africaine symbolis\u00e9e ici par <strong>La Pileuse<\/strong>. Et puis, la pileuse ne fait-elle que piler? Que repr\u00e9sentent le pilon et le mortier pour elle? Que pile-t-elle vraiment? Dans quels \u00e9tats navigue-t-elle pour accomplir le dur labeur? Voici quelques questions \u00e0 envisager dans cette \u0153uvre contemporaine qui prend appui sur des traditions africaines, plus pr\u00e9cis\u00e9ment celles des villages Oulo et Boromissi au Burkina Faso, terre d&rsquo;enfance de la chor\u00e9graphe.<\/p>\n<p><em>Gr\u00e2ce au programme d&rsquo;accompagnement du MAI, La Pileuse \u00e0 b\u00e9n\u00e9fici\u00e9 du soutien financier du Minist\u00e8re de la Culture et des Communications, et de la Ville de Montr\u00e9al dans le cadre de l&rsquo;Entente sur le d\u00e9veloppement culturel de Montr\u00e9al
